Talking about not making it, my old bowling mate Tom Smith passed away Sunday night at 9.00pm, it really got to me, he was 46 days short of his 99th birthday. He was at the battle for Monte Cassino, he said a mate to the left of him got killed, he was wounded with schapnel, back into the war, and the chap to the right of him got killed, he said Norman you can say I was lucky. They flattened it, he went back years later when they rebuilt it again. Tom Smith is a ordinary name, but I thought he was a man of the highest quality, rest in peace my friend.
