Carrying Methanol, most likely based at ICI Billingham, the methanol plant only closed about 20 years ago.

Looking at the trailer tyres,I would hazard a guess that the trailer is empty, the fireman hosing down spilt diesel.

Rarely post on here nowadays but it seems Buzzer certainly likes the pictures i have on Facebook they appear on here within minutes after i have posted them. :unamused: This particular one of the Scammell 20LA tractor unit, operated by ICI of Stockton on Tees, was hauling a tanker loaded with methanol when it jack knifed on the A683 near Sedbergh ■■■■■■■ in 1965.

I think Dumfries Transport Group. is one of Buzzer’s main sources of pictures, I’ve seen most of the pictures he posts on Facebook before I come here.

I disagree, is it compulsory to be on Facebook or something or why don’t you guys just post them on here first.

And those of us who don’t use FB…■■?
We don’t find it tedious at all.

Well, it seems one has upset a couple of the viewers on here, firstly if the pictures are on FB they are in the public domain and reposting them should not be a problem. Some members like to comment on the action of others but never post anything of note themselves, if all you want to do is criticise don’t bother looking in on any of these threads, contrary to this I have had praise in the past for compiling my daily input and it gives me pleasure remembering a lot of the old companies I used to see on my travels that no longer exist.
My life has been in the transport industry for over 50 years from a driver to owner driver and building a very successful transport operation at its peak had over 30 arctics & which my sons still operate today albeit with less trucks. Now in my retirement one really does not see any harm in what I am doing, after all no one is being robbed are they.

Just as a footnote I see “justpassing” you have been a member on here almost four years and in that time you have posted nil images done 26 posts, were they all criticisms of others just curious that’s all.

With respect Buzzer.

Well said.

I think we are all skirting around mentioning the obvious which is that the poor driver will have been extremely lucky to have survived given the damage to his side of the cab.

I try to look in regularly to see what Buzzer and others have posted as i don,t do Facebook,so this forum is a good source for looking at transport pics past and present,
Saw one of yours Southbound at Keele yesterday afternoon Buzzer, nice n clean against the late afternoon gloom of a rainy Wednesday.

I don’t do Facebook, so enjoy Buzzer’s efforts. Thanks Buzzer.

I don’t do ArseBook and like most of the members here, enjoy Buzzers pictorial contributions and long may it stay that way.

I am happy to see the pics here as I have nothing to do with Facebook, Twitter or any of the other similar sites. So thank you Buzzer.

A lot of pics on here are posted time after time and when you’ve been on for forum long enough, and still retain your memory function, you see them. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest and I certainly would never take issue with anyone reposting something that they have found on facebook or other media platforms. FWIW I look forward every day to seeing Buzzer’s posts and I never ever thought he had a huge barn full of old pics that he carefully selected on a daily basis. More power to his efforts say I.

Just wish he could find me one of Jack Critchlow’s fleet though. :unamused: :unamused:

Mezzo,
Good afternoon,
I used to load methanol out Billingham for Coates brothers in Machen South Wales back in the seventies,
Thanks for the memory.
Regards, Allan

Carry on Buzzer, I am also on FB, in various old truck pages etc, I have put more photos on FB than I have on here and seen my photos turn up all over, including Youtube, to be honest I couldn’t care less, they are pictures of trucks I have driven, nothing more, if someone enjoys looking at them and it stirs memories that’s good enough for me, keep up the good work.
