Christ do you know how long that had been in there?
That wasn’t in there very long. The poor old driver reversed back a bit too far with a full load of grain & gravity done the rest. If I remember correctly he got out ok.
It must have been feeding time for the fish.
Pleased to know the driver lived to tell the story.
Any info on this ADR1? bales are never easy to load but they looked to be solid
Does anyone else think that he was a bit of a muffin to put the bottom layer on their ends?
Hi Rof, the whole load is a [zb] up, top tier drops through second tier and pushes the lot out, and yes Ramone they were solid didn’t need much rope when loaded right, probably his first load, as we all made ■■■■ ups on ours, only his dropped off,
Les.
Hiya…i’d go for Leyland Beaver for the lorry.Leyland had wider mudguards than a AEC.
the car with twin headlights is a Zodiac.

…so whos got the best comment for the thoughts running through the poor drivers head when the pic got taken…( if only id given the theiving “security” do you want us to watch your lorry for 2 bob toerag kids the money, and id have been ok)?..or?
Its defo not an Albion or Leyland, AEC had the wider wings not the others and a full width top grille as shown. The other vehicles near by are cars! Cheers Franky.

1I know we have had this one on before but in the picture below it shows that the Leyland Comet, operated by Humber Warehousing of Grimsby, must have remained in situ for quite period of time while the arch at Lincoln was rebuilt

The Comet had to stay until the rest of the arch was dismantled brick by brick.
The transport manager Geoff Hallam drove to Lincoln after the accident and sacked the driver on the spot, he passed the driver along the A46 on his way home and thought about stopping to pick him up before deciding against it.
Humbers was allowed to take the load out which was Birds Eye produce so it didn’t spoil, they backed a second vehicle up to this one and did a straight tranship, and then that’s where the wagon stayed until Humbers got a call to come and collect it, not sure how long it was but it was a while!!
