Derek Parnaby from Chilton had quite a few Motors including a 1920’s chain drive Scammell, A Rotinoff Super Atlantic 6x4 Ballast Heavy Locomotive, and an HHT Tractor , which was a Scammell Contractor chassis, Volvo F88 cab, and Scania 142 engine.

I clearly remember when the Rotinoff was painted in 1986, as the old Carrimore Factory doors at Harelaw
were just wide enough for the Rotinoff to go through, maybe an inch or two either side.

Phil.

I remember this and I seem to recall a F12 that Ken Thomas used to run would be great to see any pic as when we used to go past Lanchester the Garage/Yard always looked packed with Wagons and Machines.

Anthony Mole had a skip hire business and was bought out by Gurteens in the late 80’s. We ran their wagons ( ERF’S and ATKI’S ) until we bought new. The skips still had their name on until they needed repaired and were repainted. We also took over Newcastle Skip hire, Charltons, Newton moor & Blacketts.
