Rolly was 73 he worked at Dents from about 1963 till its demise and then at Barrons/Tennicks.

I sarted at Dents in 1960 as a app.fitter and worked in every layby on the A1 road before it was a duel carrageway.
I left as forman fitter in 1973 and whent to Taffy Davies to work in laybys on the wrong side of the road.

Rolly could be seen every Sunday morning washing and polishing his Atkinson artic at home in Ferryhill in the mid sixties. Kenny, you never replied to my post about changing a rear spring on a fully loaded (with Ringtons tea) Atkinson in the London (Hackney) depot about 1967. Are you retired now or jobbing about? Iā€™ve been retired for a few years now on medical grounds, we donā€™t get any younger, regards Ron.

Nice photos Marcus keep them coming cheesr Larry

night shift bri:
Probably see you at Bents Park Greek. Just thinking it would be nice to see more motors in local hauliers colours. I know Jimmy Logan will probably be there with Murray Hoggā€™s Bedford but wouldnā€™t it be great to see a Transcontinental in Van Heeā€™s brown and yellowor an F88 in Elddis livery. I know Fergusons used to enter their old Dodge but it hasnā€™t been seen for years.10What happened to this one?

Hello NSB I think Fergy still has the Kew Dodge but it was be very nice if the old Atki was still about it was new in 1946 to some Scotch firm in the Lanarnkshire region probabley with a 6 LW Gardner Engine good workhorses in their day nice photos cheers Larry

Some memories coming back hereā€¦dents, nicholls etcā€¦i am sure that the stratocruiser that is parked next to the nicholls units is the one that was owned by chris harriotā€¦it was the one that was airbrushedā€¦it deffo came up this area when he sold it but it was involved in a major accident and when it was repaired it only had a plain mettalic blue cabā€¦can anybody shine any light on this??

It was Chrisā€™s it was bought by Alan Stephenson (now a tramper for Elddis) he ran it out of Egger as an owner driver iirc it went over on the a69 Wingnut on here will be able to tell you more he drove a Scania for Alan for a while.
