HI F7SIDD
in the raisby owner drivers photos do you know who the guy is on the left of the photo where they are standing in front of the wagon. i take it the owner driver is the one with the high viz jacket. the one on the left looks like a bloke called derek taylor from crook. he had eight motors one being a MAN four wheeler which ran out of raisby. the rest were all flats
thanks
mick

Hello Mick,
The bloke on the left is Geordie Keepin and on the right is Billy Laughety,
They are both still owner drivers at Coxhoe quarry which is now Tarmac.

Bait time,I think this one was taken on the private road up to Coxhoe Quarry.

This is one taken at the test station Sandy Lane, my MAN with Colorline fridge, taken about 1995 I think.

We bought that Atkinson second hand and it already had the sleeper pod on it. Colin Watson who had worked for us for over 30 years decided to change New Bedford TM for the Atkinson because he said with the gadner Engine it was better to drive and he prefered that ‘Sleeper Cab’ Needless to say it was more reliable than the Bedford TM’s and much better fuel consumption

Whats the idea behind them enormous roof spoilers, are the old ones not big enough for the new trailers?? My dads spied a few of them in SCA at Prudhoe

Thers two with the ■■■ on consettbell both based at Prudhoe because of the high trailers. (its ok though I cant see it from inside)

I’ve got to say they look [zb] stupid, much prefer the new megaspaces. Saw two running on tradeplates and no decals the other day, one was YE11OWT, pretty appropriate

Megaspace better to look at but ordinary Actross better ride. Had OWT on wed night had to go to Consett cos they had given mine to an earlier starter because of breakdown. No bloody good can,t pour your tea out without spilling it (rock & Roll)
