I hate cheeky bairns!!! I’m not tight, just a poor O/D struggling to make a living in difficult times. If anyone can spare me a cupfull of diesel so I can get home and relieve the little ones on the treadmill at this holiday time,so they can get outside and warm there cold and weary bones in the sunlight our family will be most grateful. Does that sound like a proper ■■■■■ or do I need more practice■■?

Does anyone remember J Williamson haulage ,station garage ,stockton on tees, running about the same time Durhams and AV Dawson were using Atkinsons, also Burns Brothers haulage from Barton, cheers
Remember “Joe Willy’s” well - AKA FVS (Freeman Volkers & Stewart). Old Joe was a great tubby old boy and well thought of in his rough and ready way.
When I drove for Smith of Maddiston in Stockton (formerly JL Walker of Thornaby) in the late 60s, my traffic manager, Harry Deans, was an old Joe Willy driver and a great mate of Joe’s.
TMS,
do you rmember Doug Bird?
Doug Bird? Rings a bell maybe - Was he a FVS man?

REF photos Geordie Truck Show Sid the one with Richie Bolams Scania the one next to it is my FL it had just been painted in wavins colours but it had a red visor so me & Proudlocks driver in the photo below that which had a blue visor did a bit of a swap I got his blue one & he took the red one Wonderd what Gordon Armstrong would say about it but he was OK as it did look better
Somebody on earlier asking why Geordie Truckers packed in all of the lads were just working truckers & the show was getting bigger Witton castle was wanting more out of it,It took all yr to organise Maurice Jarvise, Jeff West, Richie Bolam, Jeff Suddas (RIP), Biilie Lister, Davy Rogerson, & me & one or two others that used to help with them. Not so much us on the fringes but the main men got a bit fed up with all the (unpaid) work it took to get it on every yr so Geordie Tuckers was disbanded its a pity because it was a good little show that took nobody``s eyes out not like the likes of Peterboro etc
Hello greek. I remember the Proudlock FL10 very well as it belonged to dad. F426JRG. it was unfortunately stolen around 1997. It was previously owned by John Binks of Bedlington (now JBT waste). We purchased it to replace a tarmac liveried F7 tractor unit C540KTN.(sold to PA Laing, Bonchester Bridge, Hawick) The FL10 pulled a variety of trailers for us,a double deck cattle trailer and a crane trailer working out of northumberland concrete at Barrasford quarry. I’l stick some pics on when i get a minute. The driver, Terry Harrison is still with us and now drives an FM12 Globetrotter. Dan

We only had the one trunk when I was there - So’ton with plas bins and I remember the driver dying of a heat attack in one of the m/way services. Can’t remember his name though, but I think Aussie Butler replqaced him.
Whin I left to go on John Forman’s, my Big J - TD484 (definitely did NOT have a 240 Gardiner) went on the new B’ham trunk and was driven by a lad called Mick Carrick…

Let me put one addendum to Stockton trunkers - We only had one OFFICIAL night trunk!
We Stockton depot lads were notorious for “blackies”, much to the annoyance of the upright and law-abiding Maddiston men.
