Is that Castleside Bank that the Waugh’s Atki is showing the others how to climb??
If they are all in reverse !,you will find they going down hill, and no it’s not Allansford Bank (Castleside)

Kev, it looks as if the atki is loaded with empty pallets, the tilt cab has a load of paper on, i think a good bit heavier!Vic.
Hi, transpoter man ,you are possibly right, my first thought was north of Carter Bar.

Yes Greek I will be on the Tyne Tees Run this year, I helped with the marshalling for a few years but circumstances and pressure of work meant I havn’t been available lately, but I will be there this year driving the Castrol ERF tanker which I was involved with restoring.0
Hi kevmac looks as if you have done a good restoration on the ERF, have you any history on the truck, was it new to Castrol?
The cab looks older than its registration, we ran a couple of K regs one was pre-A series similar to this vehicle but had the up-dated grill; the other must have been one of the first A series with the step in front of the wheel, it was ERFs own demo fitted with a 240 Gardner. A while ago I was a committee member of the IRTE and we were asked for volunteers to be judges at the TT run, would have loved to do it but it clashes with another TT in the Isle of Man, consequently I have never attended one.

What is this trailor, Second one down and has it been modified in some way■■?This trailer was built by Charles Roberts in Leeds, they only built 2 semi tralers and Glendinnings ended up with both, Got a photo of it loaded with 12 by Screw Loose. The trailer was last seen at Perth Car Transport. More than you can achieve on your plus 11!
Here it is Buzz0
Rubbish! I can get a better 12 car load than that on my plus 11, will get photos, Meanwhile u r familiar with the plus 11, So the first one i did was, Rover75 sal no1 deck, 45 no2, 75 est no3, 75 est on the peak, 45 no5, 25 no 6, 75 sal behind cab, mgb on scissor, 25 below, 45 in belly, 25 on back ramp, and another 75 sal last on. S orry but that is better than kev;s load of metro;s!!
p.s if my memory serves me right the running height was15;8. Davy mcdine was with me on that very day and we got a fairly similar load on his plus 11. pps Please dont get me wrong, i guess that charles roberts trailor was ok in its time, however time has moved on and in my opinion the plus 11 is pretty much the biz

Looking at the shape of the name board on the front of the cab the Beaver is one of Charlie Alexanders and I dont think them guys used to run light this also makes it look as if it is the 68 into Scotland

Never see much of Bud these days he`s a hermit & a caravaner
Looks like 68 to me could be the south to north bit half way up carter layby on the left then next layby top of hiil on right (maybe)

I will leave the story of the ERF to my good friend Iain Wilkinson as he is more competent on the keyboard than i am. He is also responsible for excellence of the restoration. kevmac47
