Great pics from Witton Castle, iirc that smart F88 belonged to an OD. Last time I saw it was round the back of Volvo at Washington looking proper sorry for itself. Has nobody got any pics or tales from Redpaths of Wooler or Bells of Ashington who were both swallowed up by the mighty “F Troop” from Blyth, or what about the James Gang from the same neck of the woods?
Some great photos there F7,thanks for posting them
I’m almost sure there was a tipper firm called The Golightly Group, they ran blue wagons including Atki Borderers.I had lift in one on an 1973 “M” plate and the driver said it was one of the first Atkis to have the 290 ■■■■■■■■ I know it “rocked on” a bit.
Hello, the north -east is the opposite side of the country from me but the company names and pics are reminding me of seeing them whenever I’ve been up that way, here are a few from my collection,I hope theyr’e all from the area or I’m gonna have a red face
LNL 465E ,Hutchinsons from Wark on Tyne…the first F86 sold in this country.
A nice line up of John Dees.
Early F86 with the later grille.
Youngs 8 wheeler,I’m sure old Harry had a spell on this firm.
R.G.Taits of Haydon Bridge,I’m sure I’ve a pic of a bonneted Volvo of theirs…somewhere.
This old 111 is miles from home,A30 near Redruth,Cornwall.
hi bubbleman,
you do you have any photos of freeway haulage tyneside, or Ron Tailford haulage prudhoe which is now known as RTH-lubbers, I worked for both of them i have quite a few photos of the Rth-international days but not many of the freeways days.

Good pics of Taits F7 SIDD, were they owt to do with Taits the Volvo dealers? Do you remember Farmer George from that area, Haltwhistle Ithink, is he still going? Here’s a pic of a proper tipper, we Mackems used to carry all the loads you lads from the sticks couldn’t manage, big 'orible rocks from Heights, Bowes and High Force. We used to dream of hauling sub-base, gravel and coal!
hiya,
The Taits you mention are one and the same dealer/haulier remember Youngy’s having a demonstrator from them from time to time.

Started on wagons in 1973, so maybe I’m still a new starter!!!
