Waugh`s AEC

Thanks for posting Waughs AEC Mandator, I wonder if it was NTN 464 E, It was, new to Baxters Road Services in 1967 Who joined forces with Tony Waugh, When Bob Kinghorn was in control of Baxters, Hence the name Waugh Road Services Ltd, Iworked for Baxters when they joined forces, But my face didnt fit with Waughies Traffic manager, I wont mention any names of course, But he was a right awkward bloke to work with, I remember a pal of mine who worked for Baxters at this time pulled him off his feet through the traffic office small window and that was the end of his nasty attitude towards Baxters lads, Te good old bad days Eh,   : Regards Larry.

Ive just had a phone call from a pal of mine who drove for Sam Anderson at Shorties Depot at Felling that they have called it a day day and packed in, It was said that the Felling Depot still has one artic running  , Both my Sons worked for Shorties and when he was taken over by Sam Anderson my eldest son Lawrence was kept on, Nigel my youngest son along with some more mechanics were made reduntant.Thats when I got him a Leyland Terrier flat to get him into the family firm, He went on to pass his Class 1 & has never looked back thankfully, Sam Anderson had some good lads that drove his AEC,s in the 50/60s, I enjoyed many a cup of tea in the Cotesgate Cafe at Beattock with them, Regards Larry.
