Mortons 1965 ERF. Driver was Dennis Beverage; was replaced by first Borderer in 78 I think.

Another one taken in Hewitt’s yard Morpeth.

First big rig accident on Wooler Bridge 1908. Not a local company but must have been a fair length with pulling three trailers.

Engine and trailer was reported to be owned by a William Wilson from Preston.

Hi Colin, These are cracking pictures,I new some of Hewits lads, Bernard who was a Polish chap, He drove a K Series Dodge Artic, Harry Peverley, Foden Stroker, Leyland Beaver, Alec Hewitt the son, Walter Morton Thames Trader Tipper running out of Hare Cragg Quarry, They had Pole Boggies for anything long, They also had the work out of Redeugh Iron & Steel works Dunston, Allways had smart looking gear, Keep them rolling, Regards Larry.

One of my uncles from Alnwick drove for Hewitt through the sixties then went to Pringles of Christin Bank; he was called Norman Wilcox. Colin.

Mate of mine in Wooler drove this one for Hendersons.

Yes he was a good bloke to work for according to my mate Malcolm Trotter who worked for him before coming to Redpaths in 83, his father was called George Trotter who was at Morton’s going back to 50s and 6os I think,I only ever remember him being at Morton’s when I was at school so you might have knew him. Tidy little Albion from F&F Moffatt; all the local companies in Wooler area seemed to run Albion’s in sixties and seventies.

Colin, a late great friend of mine who came from Cornhill whose family moved down into ■■■■■■■ circa early 1950s used to speak of pal of his that drove for Moffats a chap called Collie Bob.Does this mean anything to you.?
