Ponteland Lorry Park, 1986ish, Regards Larry.

class paint jobs . very smart

Thank you I hand painted them with good old Techoloid , & Billy Slaughter from Morpeth did the singwrting, Regards Larry.

Hello Larry,We used to paint our motors with Tekaloid from Stanners in Morpeth. Then 2 pack paint was brought out and the cabs were done in Glasurit 21 line and the chassis in good old tekaloid.Seems Bill Slaughter did just about all the motors in Northumberland.Micheal Gray from Widdrington has carried on his style of signwriting.

Hi, re: W A Glndinning Ltd
names that come to mind: Ken Robo,Bob Englsh,Ed Brown,Gordon Pullman,Dave Richardson, Bob Parker,
Bruce Lamb,Wilf Wilson,Brian Hubbard,Dave Emanuel…
What happened to the Scammell Crusader Reg PCX310M, still being used in the mid 90’s for taking trailers
for test?

Apart from Flapper, there all retired now. Robbo and Bob E moved to Spain, Bob may be back now, not sure. Last time I spoke to Gordon Pullman he was planning on upping sticks and moving to Thailand!
Any other Shotley drivers we have not mentioned?

Hi,Just an update on Denis Burnett, he is indeed living in Southampton and driving an 18t Iveco Beavertail with a trailer for about the last 7 years for SHB Hire Ltd, I’m his transport manager, he can be testing at times but I have the utmost respect for him, where he gets his energy from is an enigma and is still a workaholic.

Hi you have deepest sympathy trying to manage Denis lol. He’s mellowed a lot since his younger days believe me, when he started at Glendinnings about 1967 his first trip was with me on a draw-bar as second man with a load out of Oxford back up to the NE. I was talking to Julie last week at a funeral she was saying he was still working. Ask him about his poetry!

Kenny Elddis getting any work out of Haltwhistle? See they are after o licence’s for that area.
