I can remember Trembles from when I was a very young kid. Used to play at red hill on our bikes near their yard. Later in life when I had my first pint in the Sun Inn I can remember a driver in his green overalls who drove for Trembles but never knew his name. I can remember the cranes and sure they had low loaders as well. That must have been when I decided I wanted to drive HGVs ha ha.
And now I live on the estate at the back of Trembles yard which is still in use as my car mechanic has a small unit there. Never knew it was called Tinklers Turn though and been a Benton lad all my life
Regards
Colin
Tinklers Turn is a new one on me too Toonheed, Iām a Longbenton lad aswell and remember Trembles, Six wheel mobile cranes probably ex MOD bonneted types and as you say I recall single axle low loaders, the kit always looked well used to say the least. They always seemed to be around in the Sixties. Franky.

Well after all the talk about old North East hauliers Geo Blackett & Familey they deserve some credit for their eforts that they contributed to the Area that they workered in & created lots of jobs for drivers that enjoyed working for them, Regards Larry.
