Hello, can anyone remember Shadow Transport from Crewe operated by Roger Nankevel, I’m not sure if I’ve spelt the surname right, but he used to load tea for East Anglia and reload from the Co-op canning factory in Lowestoft back for the north-west. When I first knew him he had a black Marathon, very smart, then an equally smart Foden 4000 series in silver and red. I worked for Perfects of Gt. Yarmouth in those days and we also done a lot of work out of the Co-op.Roger would often park up at the Red Lodge near Newmarket and I,along with others from our stable, would go for a couple of pints with him in the pub next door. This was during the 1980s, the canning factory has long gone now and Perfects no longer do haulage, just engineering. The drivers were all made reduntant 4 years ago, I was one of the new boys, with 37 years service. Happy days (well mostly anyway). Regards to all, Haddy- aka Dave.
