Another shot of the Cargo , think Brs may have supplied this on contract (not sure I will ask him ).
Hi Jakey, thanks for putting theses pics on.The Cargo was a ■■■■■■■■ V8 Eaton Twin Splitter ,when fully loaded 28 ton,i think"a long time ago" but paper is a heavy commodity, and when loaded was hard work through the gears. Was supplied through Hartford Motors in Botley as they were then. Please give ADR my regards,Thankyou.
JAKEY:
Adr (chris) will re call this truck . nice truck Dave , I here you look in at times .
This Photo was taken at Roman Way LDOY i think. I did LDOY 2 on APs, was great,we got paid for the day as well. The best i ever did was come 2nd in my group,Shell 1st,AP 2nd,Shell 3rd and went on to Telford ,where i did not progress any further. It was
nt that bad though, Hotel and all expenses paid.Bloody good company were Air Products,if only i had been wiser. All good memories.

I could`nt manage it now with my legs and ankles,It was and probably still is a young mans job.You have to be pretty strong and fit to do that work. The trucks are still well kept, and are 10 x better than when i was on there. When i started in 1975,i drove a Bedford TK.Then they gradually went over to Leyland Clydesdales, which were converted to sleepers by a company in Andover by the name of Nightrider “hence the name in the windscreen”.
Dave no chance of getting you helping us then ■■?

Timbmet isn’t the job it used to be,I worked there about 2 years ago for 6 months. It was going through a lot of changes, and still is. It’s nearly all fork lift work now, although there are still some hand off deliveries.
