Yes your right. Parked opposite Shaw’s Cafe at the scrap yard.

Veitch Bros Loanhead

Cracking photos, forgot all about Veitch. Used to tip reels of paper into Penicuik from France for storage.

Henry Hogg was an owner driver way back.
He used park his Albion Reiver.
In Pitt Street or Trafalgar Street Leith
That is where I used to see it parked overnight.
Thomas Smith Jnr and Wm Swan had their garages in Pitt Street Leith.

Anyone else remember him??

Murray International Metals, Kirknewton then Newbridge

Great Photos “Scotnat” I can remember these Hoggs motors in their lovely Green Livery with Tanks fastend onto the 24 ft flat bodies, I used to see them when running up to Glasgow on the old A 8 in the 50/60s good old days, Thanks for posting these real classic pictures of the days gone by, Regards Larry.

Pollock of Musselburgh couple of older trucks.

Some drivers will remember J B Alexander a small tipper operator.
He kept very tidy fleet. Pic attached is an example.
His garage was in Mayfield Road Edinburgh.
Located at the bottom of Liberton Brae.
It is now a MOT & Car Repair Centre now.
There were a few small tipper operators in Edinburgh back in the 60s.
Wm Swan Pitt Street Leith and Pettigrew Morningside doing mostly quarry work

I am sure all Edinburgh area drivers will remember this company.
D. B. Marshall’s Chunky Chicks of Newbridge.
Also had Factories at Cambuslang, Coatbridge & Coupar Angus.
Eventually bought out by Grampian Foods. Then disappeared.

Very Nice examples of ERFs.
