When I was a nipper, my next door neighbour was a Beresfords driver. I don’t actually remember him, just the family he left behind. Wife, Joan, and 3 daughters, Manda, Alex and Melissa.

RIP John Rogers

Hi all,

Found this while searching for some other stuff,
My apologies to Kev Hayes who’s photo this is, Dave Taylor passed it to me to Scan and post a long while ago and I nust admit I forgot about it, so here it is at last

I’ve also noticed looking back through this thread that some of my early photo posts have lost there links, so I’ll post them again when I get time.
Heres a couple for Mushrooman, the only Thor photos that Jason has, he does not have any DOW photos sorry.

Apparently, Jason says that this was the 1st western load aloud behind the iron Curtain, carl took it himself, i think photos taken in St Petersburg

Hi willie roadstar i have a picture of a Thor truck parked next to my scania from way backprob late 70’s,i never new who they were til i was trawling on this thread,We also did alot of work for JSL going to split from the early 90’s it started with us doing frozen and chilled goods at first tipping on the freezer ship that was based in Split but soon got involved doing general cargo there also including petrol and oil and even schimeter tanks x2 in a frigo, very tight about an inch each side.We worked for them till they sold out to ESL very good job and they treated us well and most important always paid on time.Any ways i will post pic and maybe some one can throw some light on it,regards Buzzer of Davies International,Southampton.

.thank once again to phil bunch for the photos
D&S Were two of the original directors of comart. There depot
was a mile down the road from comarts .

Jeff,

Great photos, I remember D&S the garage was opposite where Smithsons is, don’t remember seeing the Merc, but they had a couple of Scania’s in that colour, used to see parked there when taking Dad to work up Uttoxeter road with Mum.
