Unless I am mistaken up until very recently it was an orange or red ERF rigid.

as Alcocks old colours.I only work Partime in Shell now so hav’nt seen them for a while. The bring pallets of Ceramic balls to Shell, The chap who was

HI Transporter man
You’ve got us all stumped can’t think of this chap with double drive units. Can you remember what colour or what work they did. Its getting at me now.
Someone mentioned Mick Badderley He had six wheeler Fodens Silver with Blue Horizontal stripes they did Heinz work to the south west.
Iv’e put a list on page 10 sixth paragraph down, These are companies not mentioned much,in Stoke area as i wright I thought about Ashley transport, Sturge, Walchesters,Can anyone recall Bert mellor, he run 1/2 dozen gravel lorries from a petrol station at Norton Green ,Creda, Alcock,s another ERF user, MFS was another outfit in Stoke They did containers also truck sales, If you wanted a truck they was runnig they’d sell it to you.well thats a few more not on the list.
YOU lot are still letting me down what’s that chaps name■■? he did Europe Guy big J / Merc 1924 He had that tea van in a lay by,Late 80s nr jct 15 on the left
coming towards Stoke.
Hiya. Got it now Billy Yoxall he has a son called Trevor who is still running a powder tanker.Flying Foden you must remember Billy .Unfortunatly i was
told he passed away last year.RIP Billy.
John.
Hi john
the bloke you are refering to with the blue & silver foden’s & erf’s on the Heinz contract is Mick Bailey mate, he actualy made his own curtainsider trailers in his workshop (well his fitters did), his son paul runs a tidy red Scania topline & mick runs a concrete business now next door to his little industrial estate on canel lane, longport.

Hiya Flying foden What are the Sturge lads upto nowadays 1979/80 I was doing the girder off cuts out of Shelton bar and Sturge was doing all the handling
it was a good job but my boss sold the truck from under me with the work.

Flying Foden …big mistake I did know young Billy and forgot his name Well i forgot old bills name crap what 30 years of boose and hard work dose.
One minute you can remember the number plate of a truck from 40+ years ago Then you forget what day it is.
Cheers John
hi flying foden
i live in the same town as trevor too mate, billy was trevs uncle & he used to run a yellow sed atki 400 with a tipper trailer 90% of the time, trev used to work for Eric Armitt then he & his brother got their own motor & started subbying for him.
I know that trev had a very nice Turbostar with twin stacks but he was coming up the motorway one day & it caught fire & he’d not had it long.
Eric Armitt another one to go on the list of Stoke hauliers long gone. he had some nice motors too.
cheers

Does anyone remember Fitzfield freight/transport, part owned by Mick Fitzackerly, maybe based a bit more south but in the stoke area I think. They did some container work around the late 80s ish ■■
