bunchy is on j&k oils .ray gold is on Shirley’s,Dave is on for a cheese firm from crewe area who’s name escapes me for the min

Could it be Need’s , they have green Scanias■■?

Who was the firm from Chesterton who had the Kodak (i think) work out to everywhere■■?

Was it a Comart or Moorlock driver who was parked on the Reeperbahn when a tv documentry come on his wife was watching it and saw his truck on there, from what I was told wife was not happy and rang the office to get him home ASAP.■■?

no ben9 it’s not Needs .i think it’s called haslinton cheese but not 100%
comart did a lot of ships stores work as well as the kodak job

Funny thing after all this talk of Stoke firms.Look what was in last nights “Sentinel”

Jim Stubbs used to work for Berrisfords, and now he works for Fedex/ANC same as myself.
This do is open to wives as well,Jim would like to know by the weekend if anyone wishes to attend,as he has to confirm the numbers to get the size of room he requires.
I asked Jim if we had to turn up in our working gear,ie,leather waistcoats and clogs with your wallet on a chain,to help us recognise one another after all these years.
I said as I was mainly M/E,could I turn up in cut down jeans, flip flops and sunglasses.
Hope to see some of you there.

If you go I hope that you have a good night but I do hope that you will take precautions before eating at the Moat House. Just pretend you are still running abroad and take your immodium.

When I spoke to Jim this lunchtime,he told me Bunchie and Ray Gould were turning up,and I think Carl Cornes may well make an appearance. He used to work for Thor and is now night manager at Fedex/ANC.

FF. Will you be showing up at the do?
I think all of us that turn up should wear a big badge on our lapel with our name on as no one will recognise anyone else after all these years!
Jim Stubbs told me that Ian Tyler is going. We used to live next door to each other when we were teenagers.I left home to join the army, never saw him again until I was driving for Brit European when I met him in the Ramtha Restaurant when he was driving for Chapman and Ball. When I changed from Brit’s to C & B,he’d moved on.Never seen him since,so this will be the second time I shall see him in 40,no,50 years.
FFS,are we really that old?

the only one i can find at the moment when my dad drove for morcap
i think it was taken in austria? perhaps someone will recognise mountain
in background

Yorkie,

Overlooked this post somehow !! Tut Tut - The guy who lived next door to the club on high lane and drove for Morcap was named Holford, used to go to school with one of his sons - can’t remember his name now, also next door, there was a guy who drove for a number a companies who was Popeye’s Brother - Chris Oldaker.

I’m hoping to get some photos of Thor, speaking to one of the owners sons today and he says he has some very early photos, apparently Thor were the 1st UK firm to go to Lenningrad back in the early 70’s.

Further to an earlier post on here - I can’t remeber Comarts ever going to Pakistan or India.!!

And the name origanally did evolve from the word Comman Market in 71 when the UK was about to join, it was called Smith Bros or Smiths for Service before then, when my Dad started wiyth them.

Speak soon

Regards
Ant

Carl,

Yes Tony is still going, based in Mkt Drayton, still doing Int. last time I spoke to him, Still running F12 also, Sold Alan Barlow a Eurostar a number of years ago, was pulling for a Bakery to Belgium last time I spoke to him, but that was years ago, He had a Turbostar on Frans Maas for a while which Big H drove for him. I have a Photo of the Eurostar somewhere, had it painted in Gold with decals of his Westy dogs on it.
