Morning all,

That looks to be outside the “new” Longton Garages premises in King Street when they were fresh opened. Longton ran a fair few Warriors and Invincibles, but that is a funny little trailer!

You can just see the outline of an FF BMC inside the showroom/reception area. If I remember correctly the building had a beautiful ceramic tiled floor, and a pure 60s sweeping hardwood staircase. Later they ran BMC and Jaguar from there, then opened Hanley Garages. That was a big site, ran right up Clarence Road, up further than the Churchill Pottery.

Who was the man who built the Trantor tractor in Clarence Road? Used to power through the traffic on the D Road! Blooming quick thing, was it Perkins powered?

Cheerio for now.

Strange thing is that Bulk Storage were painted Oxford Blue so I’m wondering if this was destined for Bulk but never made it

Dan,
Would this be outside Longtons?

Morning all,

Yes Pete, that is outside Longton`s premises on King Street. In the background is the Churchill Pottery.

Longton also had the Land Rover franchise, you can just see a serie 2 in the showroom. Eventually this showroom was turned over to the BL Car franchise.

Handsome lorry that one!

Cheerio for now.
