I know quite a bit, what do ur want to know ! Went bump in a big way, good bunch of lads and a good bloke but circumstances and the law seemed to see them off.

One of them was going passed me when I was on Davys and I don’t know what speed he was doing but he had a blow out on a trailer nr side I wondered what the hell had gone on I think my mate Kenny Cook drove for them and latter started for himself doing bricks we drove for B. A bit off-piste with this enquiry, but did anybody know of a Kevin Jervis who worked for Bassetts and others upto the late 90’s? Retired after a serious accident I’m lead to believe…

if it’s the Kevin im thinking of he used to do Italy regular when they took over Beresford work

If its the same Kevin Jervis I know he drove for Reg Bassetts he had the bad luck of killing a young lad who had head phones on so he did not know Kev was blowing his horn and he went under his front wheel of his lorry it happened up north I think he took it bad but at the present time he is ok his sister lives across the road from me and I ask about him all the time I have known him a long time

Hi all, I asked this question last year, but I’d like to ask again anyway !
Does anyone remember any former drivers or fitters from W&J Wass transport ?
I started there in 1966 straight from school as an apprentice mechanic.
The Bowers family springs to mind, George Snr, George Jnr and about 3 sons.
As it’s nearly 50 years ago, lots of them might no longer be around anymore.
I can remember quite a few of the names if anyone is interested.

Thanks John

H I John you are older than me but I new a few lads,Brian Shaw drove skip wagon, and some I only knew by first name, Martin a Geordie that lived in coalville, a lad called Dave he drove a Volvo f7 when they went upmarket! a lad called Pete did all local collections and jock did nowt but scotch in an old day cab guy artic, nice fella but I couldn’t understand a word he said, hope this helps , cheers Chris.
