Hi all,Lee,s found a photo of the 112 Scania I had on LDT and let me copy it, pulling out of PMA potatoe store - Childs Ercall, Nr Market Drayton
Brilliant truck, had the blue trim inside, went like a train, even when that deep bulker was loaded to the hilt with spuds, way over weight !!!

Ant

Does anyone remember these old companies ?
Becketts Transport, Smithpool road, Fenton
Hannah Griffiths, Goldenhill, Fenton ( all the trucks were in British Gypsum livery).
J. Critchlow, Harrisehead
Forward Transport, Copeland Street, Stoke
A.H Thorley & Sons, Cooper Street, Shelton ( they were farmers merchants, and I think are still in business at Aston, Stone).
They had a fleet of mostly Commer TS3 artics, plus ERF and Leyland Comet units.John
Working at Longton Transport i can well remember Hannah Griffiths he was on the next street along on Goldenhill Rd as you said, spoke to the old man on a few occasions, he came across a decent chap, i also remember J Critchlow, they bought three new Guy Big J tractor units of us, i converted them to sleepers, maroon livery if i remember correctly.
hi guys,
My Grandad drove for Moorlock’s in the 1980’s, his name was Arthur Williams, sadly Arthur Passed away on the 12th October 2013, I remember going with him on trips very happy memories, His funeral is on wednesday 23rd October and anyone who knew him would be welcome, message me for details, i’d also love to hear any stories anyone has.
Marc.
Hi Marc
Sorry to hear about your Grandad - didn’t know him but I’m sure there are loads of guys on here who did and I’m sure my Dad would of known him - deepest wishes to you and your family at this sad time
All the best
Ant
Hi Ant,
Thanks for the kind reply, I will try and get
some more photos on over the next few
weeks:)
Thanks Mark. That would be great always good to see photos of Moorlocks - fantastic livery
Hi Ant, Arthur used to be mates with Ray gould, and Ken Alcock
If you can get a message to either of them if you have come across
them on truck net, could you let them know,
As we can’t find grandads address book, I’m not sure if they are on truck net.
Mark, I know Kens son is on here sometimes, I don’t think Ray is but I know some lads who know him are - maybe they will pass the message on. Ant
Ok thanks Ant
Hiya…sorry to hear about your dad passing on. i can’t say as i knew him personly. i would think we’ve sat at the same
table in a cafe as you did years ago, i pulled Moorcap and Beresfords trailers in and out of Dover in the late 70’s for
Harrisons of Milton, if you saw another driver from the Stoke area you sat with them and had a chat.
nice photo of the Volvo more would be nice to look at.a chap who lived across from me in Leek drove for Moolock
his names is Terry Sutton
John
