And it looks like it could have experienced cooling problems with a lack of a grille? Cheers Dennis.
Hi Dennis, it must have been a fine mesh grill mustn’t it, that can’t quite be seen cos of the angle of the photo, otherwise you are bang on!
Regards Chris
Doesn’t look like a mesh grille.

Funny little motors these Albions Dave, they had the 4 potter engine underslung and set back under the chassis so I suppose they didn’t need a grille.Bridges Transport of Preston ran a lot both parcel van and flat models IIRC. Cheers Dennis.

Chris Webb:
And this was a smart motor in it’s day,AEC MK3 Mammoth Major TGU 387,3600 gall tank.
A E Evans bought this very motor and others like it secondhand.
A Graham Edge photo.
We had a few of those, great old motors, ratchet hand brake
A mate was delivering fuel oil to Halifax swimming baths in the late 60’s, parked on a hill and somehow he’d left the handbake in the fully back position, jumps out to couple up to the storage tank, handbrake dropped forward, (they were a heavy bit of kit) , brakes came off and away it went, by itself, down the street. It did a lot of damage before a wall finally stopped it.
These lads look like TNUK members to me! Who can put names to the faces? which one is “H” and which one is Norm? I’m sure Mr. Webb is on the shot as well!!! Dennis.
