A few more
Great pictures , really enjoyed browsing through them especially the castrol images as they brought back lots of memories . My uncle drove for castrol out of ellesmere port for 20 odd years and used to take me out in the truck in the school holidays . I remember having a night out in london with him and the tanker being parked in a tiny lorry park in Sheperds Bush before going to a b&b for £4 a night . Anyway it must have rubbed off on me as i have just completed 20 years service with Mobil / Bp . Would love to see any Mobil Seddon Atkinson 401 or more recently Erf photos in the newer mushroom colour .
One we are missing is a National Benzole tanker. (My Apologies)

How did I forget them and Rix on my doorstep too

A few of the forecourt fuel pump signs of some of the companys mentioned.
Not sure who issued this but I’m sure it was good advice in the 80/90s ?
It looks like one what Phillips 66 put out years ago

Some older trucks, all early Thompsons, suprising how good the clarity is for pictures of this age

the bridge in the first photo is still there and nearly every other week a wagon gets stuck underneath it !!
Castrol packed products, based in Warrington for a few years until it moved to Ellemere Port
First of all let me apologise for the quality of these images (they are photos of photos) . The mack truck was taken in barbados in 1990 when on holiday , while the other two where trucks i drove for that great company . Bunkering ships was a major part of the job and the Seddon Atkinson shot is at Redcar iron ore terminal pumping engine or cylinder oil which sometimes could take a few days depending on the temperature of the oil . The other shot is my Erf taken on route to dover to bunker four P&O ferries , if we were lucky we would drive on board and sail across with the boat meaning stocking up on duty free goods . It was a good time to work for Mobil .
