…and for 8€ a day it’s hardly going to break the bank
Well I’m currently sat on the 1800 Dover to Dunkirk boat as it was an hour earlier than the Calais one
I got 4 days worth of tax at ashford and it cost £27.00 that will both trips I’m doing till Wednesday.
I’ve had my dinner and it was very nice steak and mushrooms.
My plans are off the ferry and park at Zele outside my delivery if I can.
Should only take a couple of hours from Dunkerque to Zele, and there’s plenty of parking on industrial estates etc. Do you know the name of the road you’re going to?

I don’t know alveringem, I just go told its the cheapest… I will keep you informed.
Presuming its still there, off J1a and head towards Kortrijk(spolling) and when you get the traffic lights with real tobaccos place on the right, turn left and it is /was 50 yards on the right.
Postcode 9240 looks easy just off the E17.
Industrial estates are marked, I think you can park on any of them.

Not enforced that much,at night is the best time.Twaddle !
Enforced by camera now with expensive fines for non compliance. Toby why do you persistently post utter crap ?Yes, posting crap is one thing, posting crap that could cost somebody a lot of money is in a different league of crap.
Back in the 80’s on the way to Swiss I’d sometimes take a chance and enter at Lille heading for Luxembourg without first buying one, but that was in the days when you got a little ‘hollogram’ type sticker for your windscreen and as anyone going Benelux these days will know it’s all entered onto a computer and with ANPR we can be back tracked!! I wonder has Toby been ‘over’ recently??
Ross.
I sometimes wonder if he has ever “been over”

I never bothered with a Vignette, took a chance.I wouldn’t recommend that, fines are fairly high and I believe they are using ANPR on overhead gantries nowadays.
Agreed. Fines are between €200 - 300. Belgium is by far the strictest in enforcement and by far the worst place to find sellers.
Most of the services when you drive into Belgium do vignette nowadays Simon. I know the first 2 from Veurne do and its the same coming from Paris or from Aachen.
The port of Dunkirk used to sell the vignette too, I once needed to buy some, as for enforcement they will do spot checks in service areas, had them check once when parked at the Esso at Drongen, what i nice place that is to week ended ,not

Only parked there once overnight. Got there at about midnight on a Sunday and got the last space (if you can call a mud verge a space) and proceeded to be approached by 5 or 6 different cars of the typical Belgian homosexual variety. When they got bored going round all the trucks, they’d park side by side for a bloody chat with one another. Its the only country I’ve ever seen where the local bum bandits make it a team event! Dirty tramps!

Alveringem seems a strange place to fuel up, I’ve never fuelled anywhere on the way out of Belgium other than Veurne or Adinkereke
Didn’t there used to be a place further on from the Tobacco warehosue?

Fair comment but that would mean you have crossed the border without one, wouldnt it ?

Yep. I’d never risk crossing the border into Belgium and going to the first services. Coming in to Belgium on the corridor for example, I’ve seen the Belgian police or whoever is responsible for stopping trucks, pulling people into that big rest area on or near the border…dont think you’d be walking away without a hefty fine by just saying “But I was just heading to Jabbeke to buy it!”. Thankfully its much easier to aquire these days with the new system so Belgium has ceased to be the problem it once was.
