I never bothered with a Vignette,took a chance.

I wouldn’t recommend that, fines are fairly high and I believe they are using ANPR on overhead gantries nowadays.

Agreed. Fines are between €200 - 300. Belgium is by far the strictest in enforcement and by far the worst place to find sellers.

Not enforced that much,at night is the best time.

I don’t know alveringem, I just go told its the cheapest… I will keep you informed.

Watch out for the George Michael lay bys, safest place to park,as is active all night,no cab robbers or trailer slashers.

this is the sailing im going for…

my favorite type, as you say no curtain slashing or diesel stealing.

Makes me wonder if the blokes that frequent the “cottaging” laybys are married and have girlfriends, and would phone the coppers if they saw a truck being broken in to,so not to draw attention to what they are doing at the lay by.

I dont think the curtain slashers would want to upset the bummers. :open_mouth:

Yes, posting crap is one thing, posting crap that could cost somebody a lot of money is in a different league of crap.

Back in the 80’s on the way to Swiss I’d sometimes take a chance and enter at Lille heading for Luxembourg without first buying one, but that was in the days when you got a little ‘hollogram’ type sticker for your windscreen and as anyone going Benelux these days will know it’s all entered onto a computer and with ANPR we can be back tracked!! I wonder has Toby been ‘over’ recently??

Ross.

I never risked driving in Belgium with no vignette. Holland was one thing but Belgium has always been a right bar steward for it. At least these days with the new vignette its much more widely available in Belgium than the old one was.

Out of interest. If you get your vignette online, I’m presuming that you pay with your fuel card just like getting it from a petrol station etc? Or is it visa/debit only?

You can use fuel card online too yes. I pay online with DKV. So much easier.

Excellent.

I wonder, is it possible yet to do the same for the German LKW Maut? The company I used to work for were hell bent on not fitting the boxes to the trucks, despite having trucks there every week. Being able to do it online would be so much easier than having to find a pay point each and every time.

DFDS?? Otherwise known as NorfolkLine?? Going to Calais?? Could someone enlighten me please?? Or is that new service that have taken over from Sea Chance run by DFDS?

There are a couple of fuel stations at Alveringem … either side of the lights where the 24 hr baccy shop is but I know not what cards they take …certainly not AS24.

The company certainly can but I think it’s one log in for the whole company account so most companies wouldn’t leave it to drivers.

Dover - Calais ferries

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Dover-Calais ferry service as part of a joint initiative between DFDS Seaways and LD Lines.
Our ferries to Calais run 10 times everyday, so alongside our thriving Dover-Dunkirk operation you now have unrivalled choice of ferry routes to France

It only takes approximately 90 minutes to take the ferry from Dover to Calais, so it won’t be long until you are exploring France or driving on to neighboring countries such as Belgium, Holland or Germany.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard during 2012!

Oh, cheers, Harry … shows how much notice I take when I go to Dover LOL. I have been using the NSF’s for the last two years mainly so have lost touch a bit.

And they have been enforced since the very beginning, to be honest I would not even risk running to Jabbeke to get one. I know people who have been parked up for the weekend and have been shafted for not having a valid vignette
