Do you have to be posh to drive an Ocado truck?
The lorries always immaculate, and the livery isn’t too bad either.

From what I have seen about their home delivery service on TV you just have to be a Moron.Absolutely every decision you need to make is made for you by computer, navigation, drop order, time slots…they are probably working on a robot right now to drive in future. Apparently UPS in the States have their routes planned so they don’t even turn right and have their progress stalled by traffic lights or on-coming traffic. It is only a matter of time before humans are removed from the equation completely

Thats correct, as with aeroplanes, eventually there will just be a dog and a pilot in the cockpit, the pilot is there to feed the dog and the dog is there to stop the pilot messing with the controls.
To drive one of the vans you have to be mental. Every time I see one it’s going flat out, just like the Asda and Tesco vans actually, you’d think the mini trolley-dolleys would behave like their big brothers really wouldn’t you?

Tesco dot-com vans flat out?? when/where? I’m often waiting to get past them with a 44 tonne truck

Ever heard of Job and Finish?
The Ocardo van drivers are on good money. IIRC their basic rate is £8.50ph. They work hard for it though. Everytime an Ocardo vehicle returns to the depot it is checked for damage before being parked up. If there’s something wrong it gets fixed before being used again. I get the impression public image is important to them.

Or maybe they are wrecking the vans with their ■■■■ driving standards! I think I’ve only seen a couple of these vans driven in a safe manner over the last 12 months on their way back to Hatfield!
The majority of the drivers have a bad attitude on the road! Especially on the M25! Cut in front of Artics all the time! Tossers!

We go to their Hatfield rdc quite a lot and I think their trailers are a bit tatty and so are some of the units, nice grub in the canteen though.

I expect to hear that Micheal O’Leary saying that at some point. Very good.

Anywhere within the M25 and in the Birmingham area.

Job and finish? Isn’t that where you have what looks like a good hourly rate until you have so much work on that you never get done before your supposed finish time? Actually reminds me of a warehouse job I used to have, 6-2, you would start and get given roughly 1300cases to pick and it was job and knock. But only in the sense that if you hadn’t picked your 1300 by 2 you stayed to finish it. If you finished it early you had to stay till 2. Once I finished at 1, got given a pick of someone elses who was struggling which I didn’t get done and then they wanted me to stay past two to finish it whilst the other guy went home. Didn’t happen though.

I think it is like owning a Harrods bag, people down our street order a minimum from Ocado made up of special offers, and then do their main shop at Lidl
Ocado work for Waitrose
are they a posh shop

They are the finest food shop there is. Ocado are a separate company though, and actually the second biggest online grocery retailer in the world after Tesco. Waitrose have started doing their own delivery now so I’m not sure where that leaves Ocado
