A company I work for has an operating centre at site A and is authorised to run ten vehicles. They have another piece of land some thirty miles away (in the same traffic area) and they want to get have an operating centre at this site B. As there are ten vehicles on the licence, they wish to apply for margin too.
Can anybody help with the procedure here please?
In summary:
Site A is to remain as an operating centre
Site B is to be the additional / new operating centre
Margin to be applied to licence - another two vehicles added
Flexibility to keep any amount of these ten vehicles at either centre
Can’t say 100% without checking notes! but as it’s in the same traffic area they shouldn’t need to apply for another o’licence, they will need to apply for another operating centre, including an advert in the local paper, I should they’ll also have to prove they have the financial standing as they can operate more vehicles.
They will need to complete a GV81(variations to a goods vehicle licence) which can be downloaded online along with the the guidance notes(GV81G) to help them fill it in.Both the changes they want to make are covered on the same form. It usually takes 9 weeks so if they need to make the changes before an interim INT1 form can be completed aswell although this will increase the cost.
