O licence help

how much roughly would I expect to be paying if I wanted to run a truck on someone else’s o license. We are already an established business ( nothing to do with general haulage)and looking at trying to run a couple of trucks , but have no o licence as yet .

Quick answer is you cant legaly- if you operate trucks you must have your own operators licence.
Any operator who let you put your trucks on his licence would be putting his operators licence at risk

If you only want to run the trucks moving your own goods you can get a restricted licence, which means you don’t need to employ a CPC holder, but you are still expected to have the knowledge of the legislation covering HGV’s and drivers hours, and you are expected to operate within the law. And with the question you just asked I’d do a lot of reading or employ a CPC holder before thinking about getting an O’licence.

However if you apply for an O’licence you can run the vehicles before it’s granted by if you ask and get an interim licence.

A cpc holder can work for more than one company though can’t they ?

Without looking, I think it’s up to 4 companies and maximum of 50 trucks.

PM you

Yes they can.A CPC holder can work for a maximum of 4 operators (not licences) with a combined total fleet of up to 50 vehicles.
CPC holder hours of work:
2 or less vehicles = 8 hours
3 to 5 vehicles = 15 hours
5 to 10 vehicles = 20 hours
11 to 15 vehicles = 25 hours
Over 15 vehicles = be employed full time as an Internal Transport Manager.
