Nottingham bus firm( middle east work

Have you lot of lorry drivers ever thought why our marriages lasted so long,   I know, it’s because we was away from home a lot! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: In my case I was away quite a long time on the Middle East trips, they say absence makes the heart grow fonder.   A good mate of mine who was called Corky had his wife leave him after 30 years of marriage for one of his mates who was not a lorry driver. He asked if he could go on holiday with me when he found out two other lorry drivers from my firm told him they had got divorced and I had took Alan with me to Teneriffe for I used to go on my own, then Bryn asked to come, He asked me if his wife would ever come back to him, I told him I thought it was most unlikely. Well he divorced and a couple of years later got hitched again but then died at 58 years old. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: He was drinking a pint when we was on holiday, and asked me what I would if my wife ran away with my best mate,   to keep it light, I said it would never happen, he said why, doe’s she love you that much, no I said I have not got that good enough mate!   beer was sprayed out from his mouth.

Moral of the story, stay single and live with them.

Hiya,
Like one Guy somewhere on the puter, wrote, he got divorced in his mid 30s and never bothered
to tie the knot again and now in his 70s, he described women as elephants nice to see in the zoo
but no way would he like to own one, I for one can understand his line of thinking.
thanks harry, long retired.

Did you have a conductor or a clippie on board Norm ?
Cheers Dave.

Yes I did Dave, there was some lovely young irish coleens who was clippies one was Teresa Green & her mate who was a dark hair lass, who had red rimmed glasses and the same lipstick, we used to brighten up the passengers, when our buses used to pull into Mercers Row we used to run from each bus and embrace and give a kiss as though we had not seen each for months.      This happened every trip into town centre, we would see each other at the Irish dance hall every friday & saturday nights, there was about a dozen of them, gret lasses.
