Ah’ yes the swinging sixties, I missed most of that decade too,
I was far too busy running bent so when I wasn’t driving I was
busy sleeping getting ready for the next days onslaught and it
was mostly seven days a week, still happy days though.

I was swinging a pick axe and using a shovel in 1964 and getting a mans wage for doing it at 17.Put a bit of muscle on my arms ready to go as a plasterers mate on piecework. Those were the days until I went full time lorry driving at 20. :laughing:

I was lucky to have a good pair of hob nailed boots Norm.Was throwing bales of hay and straw about on farms at nights earning 10 bob an hour cash in the 1960’s,and plenty of farmers were glad to pay it,as they had given up employing full time blokes.But they couldn’t get the harvest in on their own.We used to work in gangs of three,and yes I did have a steady girlfriend who I was with for six years. :wink:
