Been a bad boy ( don’t ask ) so got a letter to attend a disciplinary meeting next tues at 15.00 , so letter says ring up too confirm your attendance which I duly did .
Today I get a txt saying your job for tues  Is a 13 .oo tip Oxford , which makes it impossible too make disciplinary meeting , so rings up and t.o bod checks and says yes you’ve a 13.00 Oxford  , but I’ve a 15.00 disciplinary meeting :exclamation: , you need too be at Oxford for 13.00 , but I can’t get back for disciplinary meeting at 15.00 , Oxford for 15.00 please , so I left it .
Then rang hr and told them and she said you must attend the meeting or you’ll be in more trouble than you already are :exclamation:
So what do you do  Attend disciplinary meeting or do Oxford

dozy,

From your story, you’ve got nothing in writing.

Maybe you should consider sending an email (or text message) to your planner mentioning the request from HR and asking for a written decision and simply CC the HR dept into your message.

That way, they’ll both know of the clash of timings and they can sort out which one of them wants a piece of you on Tuesday.

It’s not rocket science.

As said above , tell both and let them fight it out  your employed to drive trucks not to think

dozy,

Are you for real?

Can’t you see that either/both could deny that you told them thereby leaving you in far more crap than you’re in right now?

I’m suggesting that you really need to let them BOTH know in writing, then when the ZB hits the fan, you’re covered.

Leaving things as they are might result in you being put on another disciplinary by either of them for failing to carry out an instruction, but hey… it’s your party!

Dave, I still haven’t been able to decide whether he’s really a great troll, or an absolute ■■■■■■■ of a driver. He never listens, and usually does the opposite :unamused:

I’m tending to agree.

Agreed… I’ve yet to see so many stories of unfortunate circumstances and non-blameworthy incidents posted by a single poster.

To be fair to dozy, I think it’s fair to say there’s clearly a lot of mileage left in him.

Not if he ends up in front of the TC over this.

Ahh, yes m1cks there’s the small matter of a possible visit to the TC… but after that maybe we’ll get to hear about incidents in which dozy couldn’t deliver all of his newspapers or how it was that so many burgers got burned.

Seriously though, and due to the rightful gravity of it, my hope is that if this goes to court, dozy has the sense to seek representation from a specialist transport lawyer so any mitigation (not excuses) can be put forward.

:grimacing:
My fear is that dozy won’t heed advice from us in here, so I’m imagining the opening statements for the defence by dozy QC:

1.) It’s not my responsibility because:

  • My truck was facing North or maybe it was South
  • It happened because I was at work at the time in question
  • I was wearing red socks, which put me off counting my hours
  • Fish is very expensive at this time of year causing my digi-card to pop out
  • Nothing is ever my fault
  • Random other…

2.) It’s actually X’s fault because a voice or text in my phone told me I needed to be somewhere and I wanted to impress them by getting there sooner than I should and kidding them about how I achieved it.

3.) I can’t spare the time to continue with the case because I have to attend a disciplinary meeting at work, then the Mrs wants to see me if my planner doesn’t mind, so I’ll have to go now. </TIC mode> :grimacing:

Didn’t Stobarts have a branded firm of lawyers at one point.
Do you think he’ll get staff discount?

I didn’t need anyone with me at the disciplinary meeting and did ok for myself ( verbal warning, recieved letter saying so ) , originally she said it was viewed as gross misconduct but after reviewing the facts didn’t view it as such anymore .
Even vosa bloke said before he went this shouldn’t all be on your shoulders , after taking a statement from me , like I said at disciplinary and with vosa bloke , I’d lost my head , which wasn’t a suprise after spending the afternoon banging it against a brick wall :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: , if I go too court , before a traffic comissioneer then I guess it won’t just me having too answer questions about there conduct , explaining why they did zb Al after phone call after phone call , texts never answered , emails , even women said at disciplinary I can see why your still so frustrated about what happened :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:
im a big boy , I don’t need anyone with me , I know what happened and have the evidence too prove it :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

Same advice as always doze, get a new job. Stobards are clowns and you’re a clown by association.

Thanks terry , I leave this week , got a job doing night trunking , old boss ( mate ) from years ago ,no being pushed too the limits ,

Got sacked, did you?

The Sarge:
Got sacked, did you?

No I actually got a verbal warning , they originally deemed it to be gross misconduct or that’s what hr women said , but after going through it all ( statement with ops manager ) and then hr looking at the facts of what had happened they deemed it not too be that day so wasn’t suspended just told I would have too go through disiplinary procedure .
After basically going through again ( statement ) with hr at disiplinary hearing she said your not being sacked , I will write too you with my decision , which was verbal warning .
She did add in future you inform them in good time what time you need too be pulling out and then you pull out at that time .
But I’m still not convinced that will happen , how do you pull out with 9 t of concrete on one side of a frame and nothing on the other .
So I’ve decided too go , was going on agency until court case ( if it is that ) is sorted as I didn’t want to mess a new employer around , but got a night trunk job , old mates transport manager , so he knows the score , knows me well and has been badgering me too go since he’s got the job .
Sorry too disappioint you
It’s 8 hrs a day so I won’t have to worry about going over hours etc , nice and steady

Nice story, Bro. Like the one about your mate getting caught running bent…

Hallelujah Doze, it’s been a long time coming. Now you can join the We Hate Stobarts Ex-Drivers club.

They couldn’t plan their ■■■■■ into a ■■■■■■’s front bottom. You’re better off away from it all.

I’m a night trunker myself. Get prepared for every road you want to be closed. And half the diversionary routes
