Not driven trucks for a while. When registering for agency work I have been told I am being classed as a new pass.
I have had no work at all in October, is it quiet out there?

I’m hearing off mates that it’s quiet.
Not affecting my job so far…

Im a new pass… out of interest if I go off driving a 7.5t for a bit do you think they would class me as a new pass in regards to class 2?

A lot go by how long you have held the category on your licence
Also returned at start of year… welcome back , its the same old ■■■■, but with more ■■■■ on top,
including now seen as a newbie again so working your way through the ■■■■■■ agency jobs, last minute calls, with awuful shifts, and companies that everyone avoids…with the added bonus of a digital tacho so analysed to death too lol…
However trucks literally drive themselves now, whilst you watch the world go by, and the depot watches you through cameras…
HOWEVER major advantage is you get passed the newpass period much quicker, leading to better work, sensible shifts and better companies, and then once again ignoring all the BS and just doing the job…
Current company usually busy time, but its very quiet, no overtime etc, no casuals about…
just looking around can see why, shops not as busy, next door isn’t renovating, pubs are shutting, companies struggling to just exist, let alone expand,
Even more double deckers on the road, class 2 delivering down our street once rather than several vans a day
Think unless major change like Ukraine and Russia talking and stopping the war, or goverment actually taxing the super rich to get back the 650 billion given during lockdown, and actually invested into the country itself not their assets and new properties for rent… we are in for a long period of no growth… just struggle as usual… so HGV work quiet… think it is, and will become even more quiet, the work has to come from somewhere and can’t see where right now… they’ll try sell us the fact going back into the EU will save us… but much later on 2023-24… but then HGV work won’t increase as driver numbers will double again…
As said same old ■■■■, just before the spin cycle starts…so its the quite bit draining away everyone’s savings and cash…
*have tooth ache and no dentist unless private … so grumpy and having a soap box moment …
