Here is a man most of you will recognise Jeff Banks sadly no longer with us,with his son Sam and panic Pete’s grandson in Tangier waiting for customs. He was a larger than life character always up for some nonsense. I certainly miss him and his humour.

I don’t know if this is of any interest? Here is a picture showing a couple of our lads down in the Western Sahara near Erfoud in Morocco last week. They were delivering props for the latest Bond Film

That was probably to the film studios at Ouarzazate, a desert town south of the Atlas mountains. I delivered stuff there for the re-making of The Ten Commandments. It’s an interesting route: Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech, over the highest road pass in Morocco at Tizi n’Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains, and south to Ouarzazate. Spectacular scenery! In this picture I am parked right outside the front of the studios. Robert

Yes spectacular to say the least! Here is one of the “pull in’s” enroute. Pity it was so cloudy!

This was always a welcome refuge after putting up with all the hassle on the estates and loading places around Casa.Sitting in the garden with a nice cold beer watching the tortoise.

Nice pics Raji! Yes, you are right: the first pic shows a Leyland T45 Roadtrain. It might even be one of the many LHD Roadtrains that were exported to France with Roll Royce 350s in them (and 9-speed Fullers). Cheers, Robert

Leyland trucks are hard to find in Algeria, i’ve seen very few of them, by the way did you go around Arzew when you visited Oran ? i think there was a white one abandoned in a gas station road between Gdyel and Arzew …

No, Raji, I didn’t see one. Robert
