I found this old pictures on blogspot, a Dutch tour truck in Algeria, 1980, most of pictures are set in Ghardaia, El-Oued and Ouargla provinces, and there’s some other pictures in Tunisia, here’s the original link :

Can i post some pictures of mine about Algerian trucks here, or it’s only about European truckers experience in North Africa ?

Raji, welcome to the thread, mate! Of course you can post them. I, for one, have travelled extensively in North Africa and would particularly welcome your photos. The ones you have already posted are fascinating. Cheers! Robert

Thanks robert i will post some of them very soon ! but i think it will be little bit out of the subject because i see that this forum section nammed “OLD TIME LORRIES, COMPANIES AND DRIVERS (INTERACTIVE)” so may be i will look for another section and open a new topic only about North African trucks pictures, thanks again.

Apologies Rowly in delay responding. Yes, Bob is very well. Whizzed down to Wales on Boxing Day but didn’t bump into Paul John! and caught up with “Grandad Bob” as our 7 year old lovingly refers to him these days!. Retired almost I’d say Rowly but still looking to do a little run here and there to keep his hand in. Happy New Year, Ade

It’s my fault that Robert. They were sat at Bruntingthorpe on the airfield ex 1995 York garment carriers, Central Trailer Rentco trailers once upon a time and had sat there 3 years or so rotting away. Plenty of repairs in those double skinned roof’s from unwanted invaders!. Peter Mack from the American Circus based at Grantham came in and bought 5 of them from myself about 5 years ago and in fairness still kindly lets the wife, son and myself in FOC to see his circus when he’s in town. 2 of them alledgedly were going to another circus in Bulgaria but I don’t know if they did… Adrian

It’s this forum you want, Raji. I recently opened a new thread about trucking in Sudan. Robert

Thanks for that Bullitt! There are some great pics on that Harry’s World thread and I recognised most of the drivers, including John Chivers, Steve (Manno), Punchy Pete, Jedd, Woody, Skelly, Jerry, Marnix, Dave Rapley and others whose names I can’t remember. Harry did put a few of those pics on this thread a while back, but most of them I haven’t seen before. Here are a couple from that thread to whet your appetites, chaps. Cheers! Robert
