Our paths must have crossed by the sound of it. BTW, the bloke on the guitar from Breda was Simon Greg, although Steve Hutt could, and often did, sing like a proper Welshman. Robert

ye must of gd luck m8

I’ve been sorting through boxes of stuff I haven’t seen for some years because they’ve been in storage. Among my treasures I came
across a hand-written list of companies doing Morocco up until the time I stopped in 2005.

John Mann, DTS, Johnsons, Buffhams, Davies Turner, Associated Forwarding, Cliff Luxton, Ashford, Saville Freight / Tacesa, Prima,
Link Fashion Logistics, Lloyds of Ludlow, PJ Transport, GEH, Bergen, Weaver, Eddie Stobart, Summerfields, Jan Verhaegh (NL), Dreier (CH), Breda Transport (NL), Jan de Lely (NL), Meyer & Meyer (D), Benntrans (D), Calberson (F), Gravelean Maghreb (F), SCAC Maghreb (F), Widem (MA/B),
Wimtrans (MA/B), Santrani (MA), Maes (B), Greshake (D), Bloss (D), Interpaouli (I), HV Logistics (MA), Birkharts (D).

All those above were on textiles down - hanging garments back work. But there were others going down there too, with 'fridges and general
freight, such as: Heiploog / Heitrans (NL), B.A.T. (E), Carrillo Grupajes SA (E), Jose Carrilo (E), San Jose (E), Tude Frigo (E),
Guaner Rodriguez (F), Klass Puul (NL), Transmed (GB), CS Bull (GB), Deutch K
(D), Lopez (E), SJL (San Jose Lopez) (E), Gefco (MA/E),
Mory-LDI (F) and Senntrans (MA).

That should get Harry going. Just looking at this list awoke memories because I’d completely forgotten about those Italian drivers on Interpaouli!
Most of them were excellent company over a beer or six, and had done some serious long-haul work. Robert

Good old Noël Maes (everybody new when his birthday was) was an early garment-operator,
same as Nedlloyd’s daughter JP Jansen from Venlo and Birkart as well as DKS what stands for
Deutsche Kleider Spedition. Pas tense
Van Gend & Loos was very succesful
ex-Belgium!!!

Some great footage here lads  My dad used to work for Jan de Lely, he stayed with them for almost 15 years, I remember our trips to Maroc and the Baltic states quite well, surely happy days back then.
There were two english drivers at the time working for Jan de Lely as well, I think one of the blokes was called Steve, anyone remembers them? They were always good for a laugh, they didn’t seem to care about, well about everything actually
I got a little question though, does anyone got some pics of Jan de Lely taken in the early to mid-90’s? I used to have more pics, but due to some removals I’m afraid some boxes did end up in the bin

Patrick

These any good? I didn’t take them myself, they were on the web. I’ll see if there are some I took. Robert

The last pic with the camels was probably taken at the filling station at Asilah. There used to be camels there in the late '90s. Robert
