LadyJayne,I can understand him bing confused about the rego, as earlier in it’s life the ole girl was known to have an identity crisis occasionally (Ginger will fill you in on the details, can’t put in print) there were reasons why certain trucks never caught the same ship…
Hi Paul, I do remember coming into Felixstowe one day to see two of them parked side by side waiting to clear.

Hi
First time I met Simmo was in '84 but from the discussions we had I am very sure that it’s the same guy we are speaking about.
We’re trying to track him down if anyone knows where he is or how we can get a hold of himThanks y’all!
Paul.

I was looking on the Riverside Motors thread and found this one again.
The thing is, I could have sworn that was also my registration number on the old 141 that I owned
Age and memory loss are a terrible thing
Although the picture has gone awol . I have been reliably informed that my 141 was PFU 378S
Malc, maybe it was the same if yours was taxed.

Thats deffo gingers truck cos he nicked my halfbreed aerial for his cb cos mine was better than his!!l lol!!! I’m his daughter by the way!!
I was reminded today of a story that I shall regale, it isn’t my story so forgive any poetic licence. I am sure it has been told and embellished many times and I hope Norman is still reading this thread anonymously.
Opposite my house is a new building development, today they were using a cherry picker to fit some guttering, so let me set the scene.
A lovely summer day in Hensall, drivers coming in to collect their document bags and run down to the ferry, the workshops are open and Norman is in his garden. He is pruning his trees using an old Land Rover with a one man basket as a cherry picker. Someone drove past and waved at Norman, he waved back, sometime later they drove past again, Norman waved again. It wasn’t until the next day they discovered that Norman’s Land Rover had ran out of fuel leaving him stuck in the air.
How true this story is I don’t know, but it has been told all over Europe in many languages. I have heard Keith tell the story too, but he made it sound funny.
Now then what was that funny story about the Acronal and the toilet?
The scene is on Carr Lane in Hull, in the background is Hull Maritime Museum. The pub is The Punch Hotel, a great name for a city centre pub and this picture was taken by an old mate long before the road was altered and the Princes Quay shopping centre was built.

Hi Lisa
There are certain people in life that you’ll never forget
Simmo was without doubt very high on that list for me and many many others
The mold was definately broken the day he appeared !
From Bubbles thread
It was driven for a while by Dave Hall and Winky, aka Les Graves
A gentleman called Keith Gimshaw sent me some Photos that might fit here

I hope Keith is OK, get him on here, he will have some tales to tell. I doubt Sharpy knows how to turn a computer on yet

No, they were long gone when I started although I do remember the lorries. Norman employed all the spillover. Tommy Varley. (Hansons) Keith Mitchell, Keith Grimshaw, Joe Craven, Donald ? Sooty.
The Heckmondwyke yard was being used by Mike Melton for building his road tankers

Not a problem, if you see him, tell him to get his arse on here then. They are actually on Flickr in the Goole & Selby Thread. I don’t get up to Goole much so the chance of catching him at work are slim nowadays.
