The bleak season has arrived.
I knew it was about to kick in when they had us running 25+ trailers, & 15 tractor units back to Dawson rentals recently.
Fear not the rainy day money is in the bank, and warmer sunnier places are beconning for my holidays 
Probably not a good time of the year for agencies i have been fortunate enough to find a full time permanant job

I’ve not had a great time Dec-Jan either; The job I went to became adhoc…No work 14th Dec onwards so no money. Signed up with Driver Hire on Monday, nothing straightaway but luckily did 2 days groundworking for a mate and DH have now given me 6 nights starting tonight. Good news as the dustcart job I was going for has been put back another week.
…It seems I’ll have to change my username to Freshfoodaway.

Driver Hire have booked me for Monday as well, will be my first shift with them. They seem pretty ‘commercial’ to me which put me off tbh as did the fact that you have to go through their own umbrella company. Had never heard of an agency not giving you an option, was going to walk out the office on that point alone but couldnt afford to in the current climate unfortunately.

Bit of a bust up when they wouldn’t let me go back on the road, despite others wanting the job. Nice to know though the lorry drivers preferred it when I was loading them.

Which office are you with? I did think a bit commercial and was worried about the umbrella thing, but the warm friendly agency with the smiley fit blond bird (nice ■■■■ mind) I signed up with over a month ago haven’t given me a thing.
Another thing, why do companies have a recruitment section on their websites, when they can’t be arsed to acknowledge your interest/enquiry?
