No smoking sign

I was under the impression that it was a legal requirement to
display a “no smoking” sign in the cab and failure to do so
could result in a fine for the driver and the company
On pointing this out , after being given a vehicle without one,
to the transport manager I was informed that after a recent
VOSA visit a “no smoking” sign was no longer required as no smoking
had been in a long time and everyone was now aware
Anyone know the answer ?

Mark

As far as I’m aware it’s still an offence not to have a no smoking sign in a company vehicle, but I can’t find anything about it in the DVSA sanctions booklet.

TTBOMK this is supposedly enforced by local authority, not DVLA. Vehicle would not fail an MoT test for lack of such signs.

Thank you gentlemen
I always carry a spare one just in case

Never had one in mine, mind you I am the only driver and I smoke so would be a bit pointless lol
