I’m a bit confused about the set up on St John’s road in Clapham Junction. I see the no motor vehicles sign on the left so I believe it’s fine to turn right.
But then can I follow the road further ahead and turn left at the junction? Because there’s no sign indicating that you can’t. It’s very easy to miss as the other sign as you’ll see on the second picture is slanted towards the road on the left.
The no motor vehicles sign had the red outer circle and white interior with the black and motorbike symbol as you can see.
Anyway what’s the penalty here if you did accidently end up doing the above?
Am I reading your post right ■■
The sign says no motor vehicles, can’t be plainer than that , can it !!!

Yes but in the first picture, you can see that that sign is to the left as you’re approaching the junction… And it’s hard to see the second sign in the other picture as it’s slanted towards the road on the left…
Its a gate…
If there is a sign on one side, the sign on the otherside is near as ■■■■ gonna be the same.
Have you ever noticed that when you enter a restricted zone there is a sign either side of the road, (unless some ■■■■ in a lorry hits it over)…

First time I’ve driven in this area let alone this road so that’s my excuse I guess. So how do you know if you’ve been done here? I didn’t see a flash from a camera or anything like that.
It’s London.
and won’t get a flash only speed cameras flash.
Everything else is monitored by CCTV.
As you say sign to left says no vehicle’s.
Unless you see a sign to the right then I’d suggest it’s fine to turn right
I saw a sign today.
It was the familiar no lorries sign with underneath the explanation, no vehicles over 3t unladen weight. Does anyone know their unladen weight? I thought everything was classified by their GVW.
I’m sure signs in London are done on purpose to confuse drivers.
Esp ones that say something like no vehicle over 7.5t between 7pm and midnight and midnight to 7am.
By time you’ve worked out what it’s saying and then what time it is it’s. To late.
The fine is £130.00 reduced to £65.00 if paid within 14 days of date on ticket.
It took fewer then 5 minutes to look at street view to see that from Comyn rd the only direction allowed is right and immediate left into Barnard rd - unless delivering in St Johns rd. Which is what the OP could have done. Since the same applies in the opposite direction, for once some common sense has been applied to how to orientate the signs so that traffic emerging from either of these two roads can see that turning left is not allowed. In other words drivers are not confronted with an obligatory road sign that cannot be read.

That’s right, I should have gone immediate left onto Barnard road emerging out of comyn road. The signs were clear on my left emerging out of comyn road but then I failed to see the same signs on St Johns road so I proceeded. Really my fault and I feel awful for missing this but that’s what happens when you’re in an area you’re not so familiar with I guess.
If it’s just a fine then I’ll pay it and learn from it.
That sign means look out for daring motorcycle stunts
Sooo… I got a Penalty charge notice in the post for this exact offense of failing to comply with the sign of no vehicles but it wasn’t this road in Clapham!! It was a competely different one somewhere near Streatham, I drove through two days before! I don’t even remember driving through here. But in any case they have me on the cctv so that’s that.
And the one on Clapham will turn up I reckon in the next day or two so that’s two fines for the same contravention in three days! £130 if paid early which I’ll obviously do.
What an idiot I am ■■? I feel awful. I am confident driver but as I’m a new driver, still less than a month on the road, I guess this is inevitable for me to make mistakes like this.
I feel awful and I want to blame my in car sat nav. but I should really pay more attention. I just missed them both. I should just use Google maps from now on.

Crappy start to a career as a pro driver. Try not to be discouraged. You’re working in a system that appears more and more about taking money from you and less and less about helping you. Also, London is a warren of traffic regulation, zones and restrictions. You are working in a licence hostile environment.
Try not to get panicked by traffic behind you. If you need to take time to make a decision about which way to go, then take your time and ignore the haters. They’re not the one’s paying the fine.
Good luck, keep plugging away.
