They are not for saying where they have gained their ‘evidence’ from. As I said I did deliver to a house in that street and was there a good 25 minutes around that timeframe. Plenty of time for someone to take a picture of the truck or take down a number from the side.
I am highly intrigued as to what ‘evidence’ they claim to have.
Just playing the waiting game. And it’s good to know that I have plenty of support
One has to ask the question why the ‘witness’ did not come and speak to you as you went back to your wagon in order to exchange or discuss insurance details. If they were genuine, then that would have been the most obvious thing to do, wouldn’t it your worships?
It smells of somebody ‘Perverting the course of justice’ - and I dont mean you!
If it turns out that somebody is lieing about this in order to stitch you up, then I think you should be able to make a court case compensation claim for defamation of character, stress, loss of earnings (cos agency might not give you work on the back of this false allegation) etc. against the alleger (not the police though) 'cos they are protected to high heaven against everything one could think of.
Again, I wish you lots of support and good wishes on this. It stinks mate.
Just looking forward to this being over and done with. Not got a decent night’s sleep since receiving the NIP

No point stressing over something you can’t do bugger all about.
Best advice I can give is to forget about it until you hear more and then take control and deal with it best way you can.
Well let’s just hope that in a few months, unless they drop it before then, we could all be saying - “It’s gonna be close, holy cow, I think he’s gonna make it”.
Dar.
My neighbour had a similar experience. His Mrs decided to leave him and him being the soft sod he is, did everything he could to help her move into a flat only a few miles away. He went up to help her move some stuff in his van, got there about 9am and squeezed the van into a space near her place and was there all day until about 5pm. The car behind had been scraped down the side when he went past it and he commented about it to the guy he assumed owned it. His ex soon realised she had made a big mistake and she wanted to come back, but it was too late for that with what caused the split-up. Three weeks later, plod comes round and tells him he going to be done for careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and just about everything short of ■■■■■■■■■■■! And they have a witness. He told them to get stuffed and he will see them in court. Guess who the ‘witness’ was? Yep, the ex. It was dropped on the day of the case because he was going to fight it even though the coppers put immense pressure on him to admit it and they would reduce the charges vastly on the build up to the case.
Haha. No, not exactly. Just someone with a previously dented motor looking for someone to take the blame because they are either TPFT or don’t want to claim on their own insurance.
Dented:
So do you think it’s one of Dar’s ex’s fitted him up??
Because of the ■■■■■■■■■■■ thing you mean?
Nah, Dar is too small to mount a cow what with being only 5ft and 10 stone. He might look larger but thats all his muscles. He has to wear lots of layers to keep warm hence he looks 19 stone
AND if it should go to court your brief can legally make the guy who was with you show up!agree with the posters who say "tell them nothing ,one thing i do know from experience is, the coppers ,if they can get you on SOLID evidence ,they don"t faff about TALKING to you , if they are talking, it is usually cos they aren"t sure it will pass muster in court and need a little bit more (pref. from you) what about visible damage to the truck?i tucked myself up into a roadside breathalyser test early one morning by “chatting” to the copper who pulled me , honestly!

I was taken to court for not having a TV licence. I had a valid excuse. I didn’t have a TV. I still don’t have one. Went to court, TVL people didn’t turn up. Court ‘instructed’ them to attend and a second time they didn’t turn up. Case dropped, fees in my favour (although that paid the solrs).
I know of instances where the court has instructed companies to pay up what they owe, money into the thousands and they have just ignored the court. Unless you are then willing to send in baliffs or take it to the next level then you’re a bit stuffed.
Not heard anything from Kent Police or the courts since. Don’t know if no news is good news. Assuming they are probably trying to ‘find’ some evidence.
Obviously won’t be ringing up to jog their memory that they have my career in their hands
No news is good news, that goes without saying, but entering the phrase into google produces the link suggesting the definition:- “Not hearing about a situation suggests that nothing bad has happened”. If you hear any more about it, don’t forget to let us know, otherwise forget it. And don’t prompt the authorities to find out how their enquiry is going, that is unless you want it to proceed! It may be quietly forgotten about.
