Anyone any experience of night trunking jobs to the pallet hubs? Is this a good place to start for a new driver?

ANY job is a good job to start for a new driver, but in my opinion, if you want to get experience quick just dive straight into general haulage, all kinds of loads from all sorts of places.
Shullbit is dead on, any job as a newbie is a good job.
But get ready to sit on a motorway for hour after hour at 56. Turn up at a hub, wait until your trailer is ready and then sit at 56 all the way back. The most excitement is you dealing with a road closure.
It takes a certain breed to last night trunking, I couldn’t sit there for hours on end with only dimly lit motorway to keep me company, I would be asleep before I got 20 miles down the road.
A good sense of humour is a must. The dreaded diversions, will be your nemesis. Its not all that bad.
Depending on how far your going try and brake your ride up, even if you don’t need a tacho. I found that helps, step out for 15 stretch your legs.
Your soon get used to it,and good luck.
