NHS Logistics are one of the more efficient branches of the NHS and actually returned a rebate of £3m back to the NHS coffers, their reward for efficiency? The government is going to contract it out to DHL/Novation. Novation are currently being dragged through the (American)courts on corruption charges!
I would like to wish them and their shareholders the best of luck with their new venture, although the NHS won’t be getting any rebate now!!
It looks like they are building a new distribution centre just off the M74 at Larkhall, just across the road from the old Sandy McCracken yard.
Yet another example of this ‘socialist’ government helping big business. I thought I heard DHL say they’d save the NHS £1billion over the next 10 years (may have misheard), but I’ll bet, just like all the current PFIs, it will cost you & me more in the long run - when’s the next ship leaving UK plc??
