New on here so be kind!
I’m gonna have to go from near cropedy to burford quite a bit in the next few months. Would you go m40,a34,a40 or cut down the a361. whats the a361 like normally - only been on it a few times and know theres some tight bends? is traffic bad 10-12 ish?

Try both, see which you prefer.
Though at some point, one route will be closed for some reason or other, so another route is handy to know.
A 361 much better drive and hardly any traffic.

thanks tried a361 this week - nice drive but south newington corners and bloxham lights a pain so might give other way a go next week
In that case take A361 to Banbury, A4260 Oxford Road and go through Adderbury. As you come out the other side you 'll pass the industrial estate (was Adderbury Station). Just past Fired Earth turn right and follow road to Bloxham. Turn right at T junction down to mini roundabout and turn left past the petrol station. You are now back on the A361.
Or just follow the A4260 down through to get onto the A44. This will take you to the A40 at Wolvercote.
There is another way through Bladon towards Eynsham (Lower Road) but it has a 12’9 height limit.
