Anyone know the old lad sat in the mobility scooter who sits on the A1/A46 bridge over the A1 at Newark. Often see him sat there , is he an ex driver. No reason ,just curious.
Yeah I’ve seen him a lot. Always give him a blast of the horn and a wave as the old boys usually appreciate acknowledgement!! Sometimes gives me a wave as I go by now!
On a separate note I hope I don’t resort to looking at trucks off motorway bridges when I retire!!
No idea who he is … but usually give him honk /wave if I see him … he always waves … could be an ex- driver 
Least he isn’t wearing a St…rt jacket 
if you look closely , he has got everything , thats jacket , cap, shirt, even a clipboard, he does it for something to do, nice guy

I hate to be a pedant… but I will anyway. The A17 starts at the roundabout a few hundred yards east of the bridge where the old lad sits. It’s the A46 that crosses the A1.

I see him near enough every day on the way into work around the corner, always give him a wave bless him, I heard from another driver he is a retired driver but cannot confirm.
Never seen him but the old guy who used to watch the traffic go by from the bridge on the M6 southbound just after J42, the fleece, is no longer there.

In the late 60s early 70s there was an old lad in a wheelchair used to sit at the southern end of Micklefield he sat on the old road where it ran beside the start of the By-Pass. He used to wave at all the regulars I stopped and had a bleather to him one day as I had come off to go into the Woodlands Café which was 100yds down from where he sat he was a retired miner and he said enjoyed watching the lorries and where they came from. Eddie.
Might be a few more after September next year!!

Was he the one who reported us for running solo from nwk-donny,said it looked bad having a stobart truck with no tri on it 
,I know some spotter did ,now we have to drag tris full of rubbish everywhere,passed donny,back up,back down,back up,back down
