Can you help as I can’t decide whether to buy new or second hand reefer (4 years old)? I am doing European job but not going down to South Europe and not doing many miles also.

Buy yourself a four year old Chereau. You’ll not struggle to obtain parts for it in mainland Europe and if it’s looked after you could easily get another 8 years use out of it. We’ve got 12 year old Chereaus in certain depots and they still run well and meet FRC regs fine, despite being constantly multi-shifted on trailer swap work across the continent. On the other hand you could buy a new Lamberet for not much more than a used Chereau but it won’t stand up to hard work half as well.

I was thinking to buy SCB as I am renting one at the moment and it seems to be solid (4 years old). I will have a look at Chereau as well.
