new road atlas

Thinking of replacing my map as my current one is falling to bits and i have pages missing. Cant remember does the aa one have the London alg routes marked in it

Its either too early or alg is an acronym I haven’t heard before.

Is that the same as the ern?

Anyhow out work supply the aa ones. Seems fine for bridges, weight limit markings seem very sparse.

Can’t see that it shows the ern, would be interested if there is a truckers atlas that does have it marked, I only know to view online, but need a tablet or pc rather than phone to view easily in my opinion.

The London detail maps could use a couple more pages of coverage I would suggest, not sure if others are better for that, my Philips one is getting dusty at home.

yes its the ern i just call it that because that’s whats written on the routes we get out the cabinet.

I have the same issue as you cant see it easily on the phone when trying to get from one store to the next

Just had a look at the Philips Navigator Truckers version daughter bought for my birthday.
2022 updated.

London approaches area covered far out as, clockwise, Bushey, Barnet, Loughton, Barking Chiselhusrt, Mitcham, Surbiton, Sunbury, Southall, Northolt, Pinner, all on 4 x 11" x 14" pages.
Plus 2 same size larger scale pages of central hell, sorry, london istelf.

Haven’t a clue what the acronyms you both mention are just letting you know the coverage of what is probably the latest edition.

Personally i prefer AA maps for reading and planning but not even sure if they still offer the large scale truckers atlas.

i found this most of the reviews say it has the routes marked out but doesn’t mention scale

Whatever you do dont buy the AA one. It doesn’t have weights in it IIRC. The only sensible one to get is the Philips one. What I do is get a smaller general atlas for quick reference and use the Philips for detail (diverts etc). Dont get the AA one it is useless.
