Sorry mate - I am not understanding this one so there will be no other answer
4 You work for delboys haulage, you are starting a new week at 5 am on Monday after a 56 hours rest(which will be assigned to this week),you have a 24 hour rest on Wednesday and you work till 6pm Tuesday.
Question is, What’s the earliest day and time can you leave to allow the rest to be assigned to this week and how much rest can you take.
reading the red bit if you have a 24 hour rest and you stopped on Tuesday 6pm read red bit again and the answer is Wednesday 6pm
Q8 - 03:45 Friday.
Monday. Start 05:00 - 10 hours driving, 1.5 hours breaks, 30 minutes (2x15) start and end of shift 1 hours other work =13 hours - Finish 18:00.
11 hours rest
Tuesday. Start 05:00 - 10 hours driving, 1.5 hours breaks, 30 minutes (2x15) start and end of shift 1 hours other work =13 hours - Finish 18:00.
11 hours rest
Wednesday. Start 05:00 - 9 hours driving, 45 minutes break, 30 minutes (2x15) start and end of shift 1 hours other work =11.25 hours - Finish 16:15.
11 hours rest
Thursday. Start 03:15 - 9 hours driving, 45 minutes break, 30 minutes (2x15) start and end of shift 1 hours other work =11.25 hours - Finish 14:30.
11 hours rest
Friday. Start 01:30, 15 minutes checks, drive 2 hours and that is 40 hours for this week which with the 50 from last week is the 90 hour two week limit.
But as with some of these question there are various possible answers. If the 1 hour OW on the Friday is completed before the 2 hours driving available it will mean you run out of driving time at 04:45. If you only do part of that 1 hour OW before reaching the 2 hours driving available it could be any random time between 03:45 and 04:45.

5 You work for delboys haulage, you are starting a new week at 5 am on Monday after a 45 hours rest(which will be assigned to last week).Question is, If you work five days from Monday at 5 am and you only do a 13 hours duty day once, the rest are over 13 hours, explain how you could get 4th reduced day in.
You can’t. In that scenario there is not enough time for a reduced weekly rest of 24 hours, which would reset the reduced daily rests available to 3, and a split daily rest of 3+9 is not a reduced daily rest so it is impossible to get a 4th reduced daily rest in.
Where did the weekly rest issue come from ?
If you have used all three reduced daily rests you can only do another after taking a weekly rest so that’s where it came from.
ROG:
Oh, I have just seen it - its the way the question is worded - I assumed the question was aimed at getting in an extended duty day rather than a 4th reduced daily restWhy would you assume that? There is no such thing in the regulations as an ‘extended duty day’, in fact the duty length is never specified in the regs, so I don’t know why you would assume something that isn’t there.
The question referred to DUTY time and it seemed that it was trying to get an answer which got to the maximum duty time possible from mon 5am to fri 6pm with one shift being 13 hours
That was my interpretation of the question which led me to the answer I gave
And yet the question was - “explain how you could get 4th reduced day in.” so not about duty time but all about reduced rest.

You are right in the way it was worded but I sort of knew what DEL was getting to so answered it in that way
Q10. If you want to start at 04:00 Monday you will need to start the reduced rest of 24 hours plus the 21 hours compensation by 07:00 Saturday, 45 hours before you want to start on Monday.

But you have to remember what Del is getting at in his questions and the right answer are not necessarily the same thing.

It would be 2 as DEL says the compo is from a week ago

03:45 Friday was what I was looking for no tricks

03:45 Friday was what I was looking for no tricks
I put…
ANSWER = Friday 0445 when drive time ran out assuming the ow of 1 hours was done prior to the drive time running out
So it depends on when the 1 hour of other work was done because it never made that clear in the question
