New MSA on M4 Swindon

To balance that ^^^^ out it really ■■■■■■ me off when I see trucks parking int the coach bays because the drivers are (a) too fat to waddle all the way across from the truck park, or (b) that crap at going backwards they are terrified of being judged on their abortive attempts to reverse into a slot without causing carnage.

Yep just what we need,.another overpriced crap hole stuck in between two other overpriced crap holes 30 miles or so either end,

Another crap hole that does not really want trucks but only provides for them (term used loosely) because they have to by law.

Money would be better spent on a proper designated truckstop in an area where one is needed, but that ain’t going to happen

I’ll maybe use it if I need the bog or a shower, but like every other MSA I wont be overnighting in there , as I have a strong aversion to being ripped by being charged for a second class service for a first class price.,.SNAP or not, it’s the principle.

To be fair MOTO aren’t the worst. If it’s like Rugby you can’t grumble too much by MSA standards, the facilities are alright.

I don’t worry about the parking charges, that’s for the gaffer to worry about. It’s not my battle to fight.

Rugby has been voted top MSA for the second year running,i believe.

Whilst there is a large number of Michelin man tribute acts that park in coach bays to avoid the long waddle to Gregg’s , in some services it is almost impossible to find a regular space in the HGV section.
What is truly pathetic, is the incompetent that park in the abnormal load bay, either because it’s a few feet closer to Gregg’s, or because it requires no driving skill at all…

cue carryfast and how to reverse an A frame W&D into any space

Not needed there like others have said few others close by , membury , Leigh delemare , Chippenham / Swindon truck stops also not far away Chieveley.

What I can’t believe no one has done with the amount of trucks passing or in and out of the Avonmouth / Severn beach area built a huge truck stop , fuel , wash , large cafe / gym toilets etc etc etc , lots of foreign trucks around the weekends aswell if I had a few bob buy myself some land and build a super duper multi purpose one with all the bells & whistles ,
The truck stop at the bottom end of Avonmouth is fine but it holds about 20 lorries and I’m sure it closes sat pm and Sunday ( I could be wrong ) but just not big enough for the amount of trucks in the area

It just so happens that William Gilders’ planning application has recently been refused. Wasn’t going to be massive but every little helps.

I notice today that William Gilders’ application for a facility near Cirencester has also been declined on appeal.
