Need to find 1960s Haulage Firm in Quarry near Tamworth

Hi all! Thanks for letting me join! I hope you don’t mind this post…

I need your help!

I’m the current owner of a 1950 Land Rover Series One. Im trying to trace its history and the old boy who sold her to me remembers buying her off “a man who ran a haulage contractor firm who lived in a quarry near Tamworth”. The landy was a mustard yellow and he bought her in 1960s from the haulage firm.

Not much to go on, but I thought some of you here might have some history or knowledge that might point me in the right direction?

Appreciate any help!

What was the original registration number?

The original reg (according to the previous owner) was GAY953.

I’m wondering if she came from Shire Oak Quarry near Brownhills. Somebody on facebook told me there was a man who lived in the quarry in the 1960s?

Did any haulage firms run from there around that time does anybody know?

Thanks
